The Frobishers team and our gorgeous vintage Citroën H van, Bertie, felt right at home at the quirky retro Down by the Sea festival held at Trevornick Holiday Park in Newquay earlier this month.
A nostalgic nod to the British seaside, the event was the brainchild of Sally Parkin, owner of the Original Surfboard Company and lover of all things vintage. Featuring a Best Bellyboard competition, Lindy Hop & Swing music and dancing, a range of classic cars and a vintage film screening, the event whisked revellers back to a time gone by on one of the UKs most renowned surfing beaches.
Frobishers were on hand to supply our juices, which never go out of fashion, to visitors, plus we presented a hamper of goodies as a prize in the delicious World Picnic Awards.
Whilst the weather may not have been as nostalgic of those warm, sunny bygone days as we’d hoped, great fun was had by all.
A fabulous new event to keep on your radar for next year and a great celebration of the UKs long surfing history, from the 1920s to now.
