Frobishers had the honour of presenting one of Britain’s top chefs, Michael Caines, with the Local Food Hero award at the Food Reader Awards, held at Yeo Valley HQ in Blagdon.
The awards were announced on Monday 25 January, at a ceremony attended by some of the South West’s top chefs, restaurateurs and foodies.
More than 110,000 votes were cast by readers of Food magazine across 13 categories and two rounds of voting. Michael Caines triumphed over tough competition from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Paul Ainsworth to win the coveted Food Hero title, which our key account manager Kevin Parr was delighted to present to him.
Kevin said: “Frobishers has sponsored the Food Reader Awards for several years and we always enjoy having the chance to attend the awards, catch up with friends from all over the South West and celebrate the fantastic food and drink the region has to offer. Michael Caines is a fantastically talented chef who has done a great deal for food in the South West – a true local food hero.”
