Frobishers was delighted to attend this year’s HTA Catering Conference, both as a supporter and speaker on one of their well-attended panel sessions. Taking place on 13th to 14th June at The Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, the event brings together the movers and shakers from within the food service sector of the horticultural industry to review performance and discuss strategy going forward.
A key theme throughout the 2-day conference was ‘putting the customer first’, emanating across many of the presentations and keynote speeches. From highlighting the importance of service style and employee recruitment to selecting goods and services that match the needs of each customer base, delegates heard the latest insight from industry advisers and those at the top of their game from within the sector.
Frobishers’ own Paul Weston, National Sales Controller was delighted to take part in the proceedings, adding the brands perspective to the final session of the day which focused on what the future holds for this lucrative and expanding sector. Chaired by Pippa McKean of McKean Consulting, Paul was joined by fellow panellists, Mark Farnsworth of Tong Garden Centre, Trevor Pfeiffer from Garden Trade News and Rob Owen from Creed Foodservice, each offering their advice and insight on the best strategies to put in place to harness growth from garden centre catering.
