Adventurer Charlie Martell to attempt record solo row

Charlie Martell, the ‘charitable adventurer’, is going to be facing his biggest challenge to date when he attempts to become the first person in the world to row solo and unsupported across the North Pacific Ocean in 2017.

This will be the second time that former Royal Engineer Commando Charlie has attempted to achieve this elusive Guinness World Record, having been stopped mid-way through his first attempt in 2012 by Typhoon Mawar.

Charlie will be raising money through sponsorship of his record-breaking rowing attempt for two charities: Talking2Minds and Give Them A Sporting Chance.

Talking2Minds helps sufferers of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, including members of the military, ‘blue light’ services and others who have suffered trauma through abuse and horrific accidents.

Give Them A Sporting Chance offers carers and disabled people adventures that offer respite, while also raising money for other charities in the process.

Frobishers is a proud supporter of our local communities and charities and we are delighted to be able to support Charlie’s world record attempt through sponsorship and help two fantastic charities.
