The 16th of July is National Cherry Day, so what better occasion to celebrate the full-bodied flavour and super powers of our Cherry Juice!
A cherry is actually a fruit drupe, meaning it has a thin skin and flesh surrounding a hard stone. There are two types of cherries- sweet and sour. The majority of the cherries we eat are sweet, but cherry juice can be made by pressing sweet or sour cherries.
Did you know? The average Cherry Tree has 7,000 cherries per season - that's enough to make 28 pies!
Incredibly versatile fruits, Cherries can be used in an abundance of recipes including puddings, jam, sauces, pies, and much more! It doesn't matter if you juice them, grill them, or dry them, they're always delicious.
How To Drink Cherry Juice
The classic way to enjoy cherry juice is simply to pour in a glass and drink it as it is. This refreshing beverage is packed with vitamins (A, B C and E) and antioxidants, making it a great way to start your day, post-workout, or as a healthy snack.
You could also dilute it by adding additional flavours, mixing with soda water, apple or orange juice can give it a tasty twist.
Cherry Cocktails
Cherry Juice has a very rich and distinct taste, so if you're looking for a slightly different way to enjoy cherry juice, mixing it into a cocktail could be the perfect solution.
Our favourite cherry juice cocktail is the Cherry Bakewell. A classic at the Loungers restaurants, it is full of flavour and decadently delicious - you’ll really think it’s a pudding in a glass!
Fun Fact: We created our Cherry Juice specifically for the Lounges restaurants, so if you want to try the Cherry Bakewell cocktail without any effort, find your local Lounges - there are now over 200 locations nationwide!
