The sun's finally out which means it's time to start organising picnics with friends and family. Whether you prefer a laid-back approach with a blanket and a few nibbles, or want to go all out and plan the ultimate picnic, we're here to offer you our best tips and tricks.
The perfect location
Nothing influences a picnic more than a good spot. There are endless amounts of places to search for, so make the most of what your local area has to offer. Perhaps you live by the coast or in the rural countryside surrounded by beautiful fields. It’s quite likely you’ll be documenting your picnic and taking photos so having a picturesque background is key.
Some great locations for picnics include:
- Beaches
- Countryside fields
- Near lakes or waterfalls
- Parks
- On top of a hill - to take advantage of lovely views
It might be a good idea to plan the location of your picnic before setting off. Think about whether the location you choose will be more suitable to visit during the day or great for evening sunset gazing. After all, you don’t want to be lugging a heavy picnic basket around for hours searching for the right place.
Toast a tipple
It’s thirsty work planning the ultimate picnic, so you’ll need a selection of drinks to keep you feeling refreshed. Our juices and sparklers are the perfect tipple to toast at a picnic and we are sure there's a flavour that everyone will love.
Our new build-a-box feature allows you to pick and personalise your order. If you’re not sure what to go for and need some inspiration, we recommend our summery Bumbleberry Juice, Simply Elderflower Sparkler and our Apple & Raspberry Fusion (don’t forget your bottle opener for this one).
A few extra things to bring
It’s easy to forget what to take with you when you’re planning a picnic, so here is an example checklist. It might be sensible to pack a few extra precautionary measures too, especially if you live in the UK.
- A blanket
- Crockery & cutlery
- Suncream (a must)
- Food & drink
- A card game
- Napkins, straws and serving utensils
- Bin bag to use for rubbish
- Bottle opener
Cheers to picnic season! Which tipples will you be toasting?
