Before we get started, there are a few essential items and ingredients you will need when mixing up mocktails - we wrote a whole blog post on it here. But to summarise, our essential mocktail-making shopping list includes:

  • A cocktail-making kit - including a shaker, muddler, strainer and jigger (like this one from VonHaus)
  • A good selection of drink bases - which could include Fruit Juice, Cordials, sparkling water, or even tea
  • Sweeteners - such as simple syrup, honey, or agave nectar, to balance out the acidity of the fruit juice (Simple syrup can be made really easily and flavoured with herbs and spices as required, check out our recipe here) 
  • Flavour enhancers - to add a unique flavour or texture, such as bitters, herbs, spices

Most of our mocktails have only three ingredients. You can add an optional garnish. However, if you want to keep it simple, you can skip it.

BAHAMA MAMA MOCKTAIL

This mocktail is inspired by the Bahama Mama, a classic from the tropical drink heyday of the 1960s. A tangy blend of orange and pineapple juices is balanced by the mellow flavours of coconut and cinnamon.

INGREDIENTS

120ml Frobisher Orange Juice

60ml Frobishers Pineapple Juice

30ml Coconut Cream

Optional Garnish: Cinnamon Sugar

METHOD

1.

Combine the orange juice pineapple juice and coconut cream in a cocktail shaker with ice

Pour into a glass and dust/garnish with cinnamon sugar

BLUE LAGOON MOCKTAIL

This mocktail is a refreshing and bright blue drink that tastes like Summer. Blue Curacao Syrup is made from the peel of the Laraha citrus fruit. Naturally colourless, the blue is added for the classic coloured effect and is used in many popular cocktails and mocktails. INGREDIENTS

100ml Frobishers Sicilian Lemonade Sparkler

25ml Blue Curacao Syrup

A squeeze of lime juice

Optional Garnish: Slice of lemon or lime + a maraschino cherry

METHOD

Pour the Sicilian Lemonade and a squeeze of lime juice into a highball or hurricane glass filled with ice

Passionfruit Martini Mocktail

100ml Frobishers Orange & Passionfruit Fusion

20ml Lime Juice

10ml Vanilla Syrup

50ml Coconut Cream

A handful of frozen pineapple chunks

20ml Grenadine Syrup (Pomegranate works best)
