We are proud to partner with FareShare South West in an effort to tackle food and drink waste and support the local community.
FareShare South West is the region's largest food distribution charity, working to tackle food poverty by collecting food and drink donations from businesses, and redistributing them to local charities that provide meals for people in need. FareShare helps to prevent perfectly good food and drink from going to waste, and by supplying them with our drinks, we are helping to support up to 400 charities across the South West.
This is a cause that is very close to our hearts, and we are thrilled to be able to help out in such a meaningful way. In April and May, we donated nearly 5 tonnes of Cordial to FareShare, this is approximately 7,750 bottles and over 31,000 litres in drinkable volume, reaching 169 charities all the way from Cheltenham to Torquay.
“The juice and soft drinks industry is already taking huge strides to reduce food waste. In line with our commitment towards sustainability, our partnership with FareShare is just one step towards eliminating waste, whilst simultaneously supporting an excellent organisation in their efforts in these very challenging economic times.” David Pearce, Managing Director at Frobishers
Zero Waste Week, running from the 5-9th of September, is an awareness campaign, helping people and businesses waste less by providing valuable educational resources and events. Visit their website for information on how to get involved.
At Frobishers we are committed to being as sustainable as possible all year round, if you want to read more about our sustainability efforts, read our Earth Day blog here.
